1. About Rosary Nations

Rosary Nations is a mobile app that accompanies you in praying the Rosary and other Catholic devotions. It provides prayer text and audio guidance, helps you follow your spiritual journey, and lets you adjust language, appearance, sound, and reminders to suit your prayer life.

The app includes:

• the Holy Rosary: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous Mysteries;
• one decade and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy;
• daily prayers including The Angelus, Regina Caeli, Memorare, and Act of Contrition;
• in the Full Version, the Pompeii Novena, litanies, and additional devotions;
• offline audio, Automatic playback, dark mode, and colour themes in the Full Version.

2. First launch and initial setup

2.1 Welcome screen

The first time you open the app, you will see a welcome to Rosary Nations. Read the short message, then select Continue.

2.2 Prayer setup

On the Prayer setup screen, personalise three things:

1. Your baptismal / confirmation name
   • Your name appears in the greeting on the Prayer screen.
   • If you leave it blank, the app greets you as “pilgrim”.
2. Preferred prayer voice
   • Choose Male voice or Female voice.
   • This selects the narrator used for available prayer recordings.
3. Prayer region · language
   • Choose your country and language.
   • This choice sets the prayer texts, interface language, Rosary schedule, and later the language of an offline audio package.
   • Important: the free version includes one language and region, chosen during setup. Changing it later requires the Full Version.

When you are ready, select Begin praying.

3. Home screen and navigation

After setup, the app opens on the prayer home screen. Use the bottom navigation and the settings control to move between the main areas.

3.1 The Prayer home screen

• a greeting with your name and the date;
• the Flame of faith streak indicator;
• profile and settings icons;
• Today’s prayer, with the Rosary for the day and Start prayer;
• Daily prayers and More prayers;
• if you do not own the Full Version, a Support banner explaining the extra features.

Standard Rosary mystery schedule

Some prayer regions use the traditional schedule without Luminous Mysteries; for example, Thursday may show the Joyful Mysteries. The app applies the schedule for the selected region.

4. How to pray

Most prayers follow the same pattern: an introduction, individual steps with text and audio, then a completion screen. Completed prayers are added to your history and can contribute to your daily streak.

4.1 Typical prayer flow

1. Choose a prayer from the Prayer home screen.
2. Read the title and short introduction.
3. Start the prayer or its recording: use Start playback, Begin prayer, or Begin Chaplet, depending on the prayer.
4. Move through the prayer:
   • Next bead or Next invocation moves forward;
   • Previous step or Back returns to an earlier step;
   • litanies show progress as Step X of Y.
5. At the end, select Finish or Finish and return.

4.2 Helpful controls during prayer

• Start over restarts the current prayer. For the Rosary, the control is labelled Restart rosary.
• With the Full Version, Automatic playback advances text and audio when a recording ends. Select Automatic playback to begin and Stop to end it.
• You can select and copy prayer text from the prayer screen.

5.3 Pompeii Novena: important information

• The novena lasts 54 days without interruption.
• It has two phases: Petition and Thanksgiving.
• Each day includes three Rosaries (15 decades).
• Your profile shows the current day and phase.
• If you miss a day, the app displays “Missed day — novena interrupted” and offers Start over or Catch up today.

6. My profile

6.1 Your journey

Flame of faith

• Shows how many consecutive days you have completed at least one prayer.
• Also shows your longest streak and activity for the Last 7 days.
• A short completed prayer is enough to maintain a day’s rhythm.

Pompeii Novena

If you have begun the novena, this area shows your day out of 54 and the current phase.

Prayer history

• The summary shows completed prayers, current streak, and your record.
• Clear prayer history removes completed-prayer records and day streaks after confirmation. It does not change your Pompeii Novena day. This cannot be undone.

6.2 Your identity

1. Your baptismal / confirmation name changes the name in your greeting.
2. Prayer region · language
   • In the free version, the region selected at installation is displayed but locked.
   • In the Full Version, you can search for and change the language or region across 35+ localisations.
   • Changing the language affects prayer text, the interface, and the audio package.
3. Select Save profile. The app confirms: “Profile saved.”

To return to the home screen, choose Back to prayer.

7. Settings

Path: gear icon → Settings

Settings are grouped into five areas. Your selected native language and region remain free; the Full Version unlocks additional languages and premium features.

8. Appearance

8.1 Dark mode

• Switches between a light and dark display, especially helpful for evening prayer.
• FULL VERSION — this option is locked in the free version.

8.2 Colour theme

Select a theme that supports your prayer. The change applies immediately.

9. Sound

Path: Settings → Sound

9.1 Preferred prayer voice

• Choose Male voice or Female voice.
• This selects the narrator for streamed and downloaded prayer audio.
• The option is available in the free version and is also set during first-launch setup.

9.2 Automatic playback

• When enabled, text and audio advance automatically after a recording ends.
• It is off by default.
• FULL VERSION
• During a prayer, you can start or stop it with Automatic playback and Stop.

9.3 Offline audio

Offline audio lets you listen to prayer recordings without an internet connection. It downloads audio for your current language, approximately 214 files.

Mobile only: Offline audio is available in the Android and iOS mobile app. It is not available in the web version and requires the Full Version.

Download audio

1. Make sure you own the Full Version.
2. Open Settings → Sound.
3. Under Offline audio, select Download audio.
4. Wait while the package downloads. Progress is shown as “Downloading… X / Y”.
5. When complete, the app reports that the audio for your language is ready offline.

Interrupted download and deletion

• If a download stops, the app shows how many files have been downloaded. Select Resume download to continue.
• To remove local files, select Delete and confirm Delete offline audio?. Future playback will stream from the internet again.

10. Reminders

Path: Settings → Reminders

Mobile only: Reminders work in the Android and iOS app, not in the web version. When you enable one, your device may ask for notification permission; allow notifications for the reminder to arrive.

10.1 Daily prayer reminders

These optional notifications remind you to pray The Angelus or Regina Caeli. Their times are fixed:

Selecting a notification opens the relevant daily prayer.

10.2 Divine Mercy Chaplet reminder

• Toggle: Reminder before the Chaplet.
• It is on by default.
• The reminder arrives 15 minutes before the Hour of Mercy: approximately 14:45 for a 15:00 Chaplet.
• Selecting the notification opens the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

12. Rosary Nations Full Version

The Full Version is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The price displayed in the app is €7.99 one-time; the store confirms the exact local price before purchase.

Your native language and region always remain free. The Full Version unlocks:

• 35+ localised regions and languages;
• downloaded audio for prayer without internet;
• automatic prayer playback;
• dark mode and additional colour themes;
• the Pompeii Novena, litanies, and extended devotions.

12.1 How to purchase or restore

1. Select Support on the home banner, or select a locked premium item.
2. The Rosary Nations Full Version screen opens.
3. Select Buy full version and complete the purchase in your mobile store.
4. If you previously purchased on the same store account, select Restore purchase.

Purchases are available through Google Play or the App Store in the mobile app.

12.2 What remains free

• today’s Rosary, one decade, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy;
• daily prayers: The Angelus / Regina Caeli, Memorare, and Act of Contrition;
• the Classic theme and light display;
• male or female prayer voice selection;
• reminders, Flame of faith, prayer history, and one chosen region/language.

13. Frequently asked questions

Why can’t I hear offline audio?

1. Check that you own the Full Version.
2. In Settings → Sound, confirm that audio is ready offline.
3. Check your device volume and silent mode.
4. Confirm that the selected Male voice or Female voice is correct.

How do I enable automatic playback?

1. Purchase the Full Version, if needed.
2. Go to Settings → Sound.
3. Enable Automatic playback.
4. You can also start or stop it directly on a prayer screen.

Why can’t I change my language?

The free version locks the region and language selected during first setup. The Full Version unlocks changes under My profile, in Your identity.

Why am I not receiving reminders?

• Check that you are using the mobile app, rather than the web version.
• Check that the reminder is enabled in Settings → Reminders.
• Allow notifications for Rosary Nations in your device settings.
• Make sure Do Not Disturb is not suppressing notifications.

What happens if I clear prayer history?

Completed prayers and your daily Flame of faith streak are removed. Your Pompeii Novena remains on its current day. This action cannot be undone.

Can I use the app without internet?

Prayer texts are included in the app. For audio without a connection, download Offline audio in the Full Version on Android or iOS. Without a downloaded package, audio is streamed and needs internet access.
